She refused to help our 4 month old with severe internal injuries because other doctors were at fault. She told us to go to another hospital and then wrote knowingly false reports to make it look like his injuries didn’t exist which hindered our ability to get treatment.

Any doctor that is more concerned with offending colleagues than helping a sick child doesn’t deserve their position.

Please refuse to work with this doctor.

We’ve been coming to see Dr. Hernandez for several years since our child was an infant. The last year our child has had significant abdominal symptoms which have been concerning and have occasionally warranted multiple ER visits and several hospital stays that have been anywhere from 2-7 days long. As a board certified medical provider myself (as well as my spouse), I am absolutely disgusted with the way Dr. Hernandez speaks to me and to my child when we’ve had appointments with her. She is rude, extremely condescending, and doesn’t really listen to the concerns of the parent. At our last visit she even had the audacity to place a stereotypical label on my child that was and is absolutely not true. She later back tracked what she said when she found out that my mother (who works with her in the hospital) found out what she had said.

Besides her rude and condescending attitude and bedside manner, we have had to push for any diagnostic testing that has been done thus far and she would tell us it is unnecessary only to find out that something was found during the EGD/colonoscopy which explained my child’s symptoms at the time. My child continues to have some of the same symptoms as well as new concerning symptoms and when I brought her in to her appointment today (which we were sent back to GI by the Pediatrician because the Pediatrician was even concerned), Dr. Hernandez proceeded to blow off our concerns and speak to me as if I was an uneducated child. Dr. Hernandez definitely needs to be retrained on appropriate bedside manner and the importance of shared decision making.

Both of my daughters are patients of Dr Hernandez. A friend and local pediatrician recommended her. My 8 year old daughter has reflux and had endoscopy with her. I found her to be very thorough and kind and most important, my daughter is comfortable speaking with her. This is important when only she can describe her symptoms. My youngest daughter is 5 years old and has chronic abdominal pain. Dr Hernandez has been very patient in working with her to determine why, as it can be difficult for a 5 year old to describe her symptoms. I highly recommend Dr Hernandez.
