I'm a student of the Advanced 3d Animation program at langara cea, and it's the best decision I ever made. The course is so well structured that even someone with no prior animation or 3d experience (me) could catch-up with ease. The professors are industry seniors with a great passion for teaching and excellent skills and knowledge to share with us. It's quite exciting to be able to learn from people who worked on films you've spent time admiring as a kid.
Even in the times of a huge pandemic, when we had to shift online, CEA has made sure our learning experience is just as smooth and comfortable by providing us everything we could possibly need; even delivering us the school Computer systems at home to continue our education at home effortlessly.

It is one of the best places to learn animation at, and an added bonus is that they also make sure you're eligible for a work permit after studying here. I'd definitely recommend anyone, looking for a career in the animation and vfx industry, to choose CEA.

I am in the end of my first term, and everything have been so great so far. The instructors are all so patient and kind in teaching the students. The entire team at CEA are very passionate in what they do. I can also borrow equipments from campus and also book a workstation to do my homework. Even though it is pandemic and we are all doing online classes, everything stil works smoothly and I learn a lot in each and every classes. Choosing CEA is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life!

I am a student of Advanced Game Technology program at Langara CEA. If you are passionate about game development and want to make a career in video games, then this is the place for you. The program is very well structured and is designed and taught as per the practical needs in the industry. The instructors are awesome and experienced individuals working in the industry! It is very exciting to learn directly from them as they have the right skills and knowledge!

Not only game development, CEA also provides courses in animation, vfx and game design. Moreover, after you graduate you are eligible to apply for a 2 to 3 years Post Graduate Work Permit so that you can get a job in the industry and apply the skills!

During the pandemic, we have transitioned to online learning and the process has been smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a career in game development, animation or vfx.

Happy Gaming and Developing!

I’m a student at the game technology program. This is a great site to study for anyone trying to break into the games industry. Instructors are experienced and attentive. Classes seem well planned and executed.

As a programmer I can also appreciate the deep focus on best practices, in my experience, knowing how to do something does not compare to learning how it’s professionally done , and the reasons behind it.

This program has also taken other non programming related skills I had to a higher degree. I see this as a valuable tool for improving communication with my future peers inside any company. Choosing to study here, has been one of the best choices I made during self-isolation.

I have been at the CEA for only one term. They have been able to provide all the online clases swiftly, and to lend me a computer and other gadgets so i can make the most of my studies. The Advanced animation program has been amazing, the teachers are very talented and ready to help. Also the IT team is always there to support with any issue. I have learned so much and can not wait for the rest of my terms.

Hey there, my name is Angelina (Anji/Angie) and I am an animation student (Advanced 3D Animation) at Langara CEA.

When I got accepted to Langara CEA, it felt like I’ve got a Hogwarts letter - only better! Over the course of my studies I’ve learned so much about animation and the industry in general that I will be tricky to try and put everything down in a couple of sentences, however I promise to try to do my best!

In my experience Langara CEA has one of the most well planned curriculums I’ve ever encountered. Everything is consecutive and just makes sense, as a student you can expect to have tuns of practical assignments, in fact almost every assignment you get is designed to help you polish your skills as an animator. The program is suitable for everyone interested to learn the craft of animation. The faculty and technical support team are real wizards! ?‍♀️

My decision to study animation at Langara CEA was is of the best decisions I ever made!

Having prior experience in Unreal and having a computer science background before joining the course definitely benefitted me now that I look back after we're almost done with term 3. But the great thing is, I still got new things to learn starting from Term 1, be it Programming in Unity or make a prop/character, UV and texture it, or just make prototypes of games in a week with classmates.

The course content for the Advanced Game Design program is pretty well thought out and the instructors are veterans who have been in the industry and have worked in the roles/have multiple shipped titles under their name; always a plus to learn from the pros, right? I also just wanna point out that each program does start from the basics and assume you don't have any prior knowledge. We've learned an array of software, some a bit more than others depending on our trade. So for my course which is Advanced Game design, we've so far learned Unreal, Unity, Gitkracken, Perforce, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Designer, and Painter, Houdini

Everyone is friendly and helpful, be it the staff, TAs, or just strangers from another program ( Don't quote me on the last bit because - Covid ). CEA was kind enough to provide a system during the Covid pandemic when my laptop died suddenly and I didn't have anything else that I could use. I really appreciate and use that still.

Honestly, if you are undecided about a school for game design, and you can afford the fee and have a positive learning attitude - this is a must (and a passion for video games), the Advanced Game Design program here should be a no brainer!
PS Did I mention the 3-year PGWP that you are eligible for after you graduate?
