I went to Dr. Dads
For a second opinion on a hernia repair. He was polite, knowledgeable and had a great bedside manor. He took time to answer all of my questions. I had surgery at St. Davids Main and felt so comfortable. Dr Fass and his office went above and beyond to make me and my husband feel comfortable. Surgery was a success and recovery is going great!

Dr. Fass is an outstanding surgeon. I chose him over a decade ago for a Lap Band which saved my mental health and physically finally gave me several years of weight loss, feeling energetic, able to exercise....I could go on and on!
The office is very well organized, they have bariatric patients as well as general surgery patients. Jenna is his nurse And his been with him likely longer than I've been his patient as she was there when I went in for my bariatric consultation years ago.
Last month Dr Fass did surgery on a large Para-esophageal Hernia with Nissan Fundiplication-he used a DaVinci Robot-He advised a 3 day post op stay-he did such a great job and I was up and about the next morning independently in my room-i discharged on day 2 post operation.
He visited me daily. I like his bedside manner, He is caring but very confident and gives explicit directions on follow up care. Prior to surgery he gave me a very good picture of what to expect. He even advised there was a YouTube video that I could observe on the procedure he would be doing. He did not require any gastric surgery to be done when I had this repair unlike another surgeon where I was being treated prior.
My incisions healed very nicely and very quickly with no signs or symptoms of infection.
I highly recommend Dr. Steven Fass for general surgery as well as bariatric surgery.

Dr. Fass, in all likelihood, saved my life. He called off the surgery I was about to have and immediately got me to a specialist who resolved a life-threatenting issue. Had Dr. Fass not been aggressive with identifying my issue and insisting it be resolved, I probably would not have survived surgery. I can not say how much I appreciate his thoughtful and personal approach.

I have significant medical issues, primarily related to cancer and the associated surgeries. Dr. Fass, lifesaver, after years of struggling with weight gain as a result of the disease, Dr. Fass helped me change. From 290 pounds to a steady 170-172, 2 years later, I am forever grateful. Could not has asked for a better surgeon!

I've tried writing this review for years, I've yet to post it bc I always end up writing too much. How do you review someone who has caused the MOST harm to your life and health? How do you describe the horror of realizing you've made the worst mistake of your life, and then being abandoned by the supposed health professional that lied for profit? I was conned into a LapBand in 2008 in the hopes of losing weight with a device that would allow me to feel 'full' with less food. It never worked as promised, it only induced bulimia. I threw up for nearly 3 years, during which time Dr. Fass was extremely uncaring and judgmental. I didn't lose much weigh, but I did lose my dignity, business, social life, health, spirit. I stopped going out with friends bc I would have to excuse myself to throw-up after every bite. Once, to everyone's horror, I threw up at the table. The band never worked, but worst of all Fass made sure I was to blame completely for the failure. His comments were always curt, rude, and insensitive. One of the last times I went, I tried to tell him about pain I was having. His response was, "I don't know anything about that", and he walked out of the room. The band not working, never feeling 'full', always throwing up, inconsistency of the band, everything was my fault, he had no accountability, no conscience about the harm he caused (despite his own video promising he cares). He no longer places LapBands in anyone, hardly any dr's do bc of the extremely high failure and complication rate. I've recently found tens of thousands of people on Facebook in similar situations. They got the band, now they are sick because there's a defective, poisonous foreign object in our bodies. It's still inside me, making me sicker, causing more and more complications. Even though the band is completely unfilled, I still get what's called 'sliming'. A fun side effect of the band that causes me to gag and puke on my own SPIT. Every time it happens, which is often, with every painful dry heave, every time I still have to run to the bathroom to throw-up, I think of Fass, and his $2M Austin mansion, and I grieve. I suffer. I paid $15,000 out of pocket to have it put in, and now they're asking for another $14k to take it out. It's nothing but a money grab, this whole endeavor has done nothing but make Fass very wealthy to my extreme detriment. Stay far, far away from Fass. Fass has completely abandoned me with this rotting thing inside me, and very few options. I also found out recently that the band was probably place incorrectly, which is why I never lost weight. I thought his rudeness would at least be coupled with competence, but apparently he doesn't have that either. I'm working on getting this defective thing out of me. Do yourself a favor, if you're reading this - stay away from Fass. A nurse told me they call him fast Fass, bc he just put those LapBands in as fast as he could. To summarize, I'm extremely depressed, ill, abandoned, and angry by my dealings with "Dr." Fass and would not recommend him.
